Irma made landfall in Florida yesterday. In Cuba the day before when she was the closest to Yucatan Peninsula.
Luckily we didn't get much impact except for unstable weather such as some heavy rain. But the beaches have been closed since yesterday. We got big wave and surge even though not much wind here.

My favorite Italian cafe that serves Japanese snack!

I was excited when I found "Onigirazu" on the menu!!
Playa del Carmen has Italian cafe that serves Japanese snack!!

Italian? Japanese???

Yeah, the owners wife is a cute little Japanese lady that's why.
Onigirazu is rice dish similar to sushi in foreign countries ( Authentic Japanese sushi is quite different from the one that is served in different countries).
But she doesn't use any raw fish in this Onigirazu. Veggie , chicken or Tuna salad  wrapped with rice and Nori seaweed.  Yum!
If you get tired of Tacos, this is great snack!!

Miki is going to be on the radio show in Japan next week!

Japanese national publice radio - NHK will have telephone interview with me and ask about life in Mexico. It is only 10 minutes interview and I wouldn't be able to talk a lot details but I will talk about cenote diving and a little bit about starting business in Mexico too.  I'd love to promote Scuba Freedom on the radio but it is non profit public radio and they would not like it.

But!   It is Live show!    Maybe I just say it! haha....

Today I had a very exciting day off.  The unknown cenote exploration!!!

My cave instructor has been here in Playa del Carmen for about 20 years and teaching cave courses at his own dive center. He is not only teaching courses but he is also an explorer. He has worked with some archaeological research projects and discovered some animal bones such as massive ground sloths from Ice Age!!!

This exploration is also requested by a local who owns this property where the cenote is located. Luckily he invited me to join his team this time!!!

There are a million reasons to go to a Brazilian Steak House.  For those who haven't been the premise is you are sitting and you have a card with a red side and a green side.  If your card is green side up servers will approach you with delicious steak and put it on your plate, if it's red then they will pass.  Usually this is an all-you-can-eat place and the steak is accompanied by a giant buffet.

Maybe all of your hard vacationing built up a ravenous appitite...

Miki went to Vegas for this year's DEMA show. She saw lots of and friends, and some shiny new dive equipment!

She made sure to check out some of the latest in Tec/Sidemount we might be seeing in the caves.
